We have always had the best looking yard on the block thanks to Mark and this last year , we had to dig it all up when we had to replace our septic system. We said goodbye to our beautiful yard. Angel GibsonAugust 10, 2026I’m BACK!!!! I cannot say enough good things about Seth and The Tree Dr.! Seth helped me with my young tree, DJ, earlier this year, and when DJ was recently damaged and partially split near the top, I was genuinely afraid I was going to lose him. The bottom of the trunk and roots still appeared healthy, and the leaves were still bright green, but the damaged section desperately needed some help. I was getting ready one day when I heard someone knocking at my front door—and it was Seth! He came back to check on DJ, re-staked him, put a splint on the damaged area, and took the time to explain what was happening and what we could expect. Most importantly, he reassured me that DJ should be okay. Even if the damaged top ultimately doesn’t survive, the roots and base are healthy, and there are already several new little stems growing from the bottom. He also explained that some branches can be trimmed so the tree can direct its nutrients and energy where they’re needed most while it recovers. What I appreciate most is that Seth didn’t try to frighten me into spending money or make the situation sound worse than it was. He was knowledgeable, kind, reassuring, and clearly cared about helping the tree recover. When someone takes the time to come back, check on a tree they previously worked with, stabilize it, explain everything, and give its worried owner some peace of mind—that deserves recognition. There was an initial inspection of the whole yard and then recommendations. The prices are very reasonable. Seth takes extremely good care of our yard, he explains what he will doing and when he will be doing the work. Communication has been excellent. If I have a question, it is quickly answered. I mentioned the Japanese Beetles and Seth said he would treat for them. Seth has been extremely responsive, very professional and courteous as well as kind. I feel he often goes above and beyond. Tree Doctor is a great company to work with and it is a breath of fresh air to deal with an upfront and honest tree company. Unfortunately, this is an industry that I feel has enough bad actors that I'm wary of all of them. Seth came to my home today and he is not only incredibly knowledgeable, informative and professional, but a super-nice guy. I spent way too much of his time, but he didn't ever seem rushed. Just AngelJune 1, 2026I’m not even a real customer, but I’m leaving this review anyway. A few months before my dad passed away on 12/06/24, I found a tiny plant growing in our gutter while cleaning it out. I told him I was going to plant it. He laughed and said, “It’s probably a weed! You’re about to plant weeds in front of the house!” I told him, “Maybe… maybe not.” Fast forward almost two years. That little mystery plant survived and kept growing. I eventually paid for one of those plant-identifying apps and discovered I’d unknowingly planted an American Elm tree… right next to the house, near the porch, and directly under the roof. My mom has spent the last year reminding me that my “little plant” was eventually going to come through the roof. I named it DJ, short for Dad Joke, because every time I saw it, I thought of that conversation with my dad. The problem? We needed to move it, and I was terrified I’d kill it. Somehow, I’d become emotionally attached to this tree. I was stressing about it when I happened to drive past a truck from The Tree Doctors working at my neighbor’s house. I stopped, backed up, and told the guy the entire ridiculous story. His name was Seth. He came over, looked at DJ, showed me the perfect place to move it, borrowed a shovel from the neighbor, and moved the tree himself. He even put mulch around it so it wouldn’t get mowed down. Then I asked how much I owed him. Nothing. Not a penny. He said, “Just leave a good review.” I immediately burst into tears and asked if he was a hugger. Thankfully, he said yes. Before I had even made it back home, my daughter texted me asking if I’d already moved the tree. Seth had finished the entire job so fast she missed it. I cannot say enough good things about this man. He stopped what he was doing, helped a complete stranger save her sentimental “Dad Joke” tree, and refused any payment. Whoever hired Seth: give him a raise. Buy him lunch. Send him on vacation. He’s an absolute gem. Grief is hard. Unexpected kindness is powerful. Todd KangasMarch 29, 2025I contacted the Tree Doctor to evaluate issues with my 2 burning bushes. There seemed to be issues with several of the branches. It was evaluated by Jake Johnson. He understood what was going on with the plants and had Jose and Seth come over to handle the pruning to protect the health of our plants. Jose and Seth were exceptional. They were well informed and educated me on the steps they were going to be taking and why. They were very fine young men, respectful, polite and excellent communicators. When they were done with the pruning, they cleaned up well after themselves. I would highly recommend Martz Bros/Tree Doctor for the health and well being of your trees, bushes and hedges. We were able to keep our tree a little longer. We have now decided to take the tree down now as it is very thin and we have had a lot of branches fall. She diagnosed the problem, suggested a solution, and implemented it all at a very fair price. Then she went above and beyond and simply stopped by our house randomly one day and noticed something about one of our trees that we thought was simply due to the hot weather, which it was not. Todd H.October 7, 2013I called and left a message that I wanted a quote for the work. Jeff Taylor returned my call the same day. Jeff was able to review the job and leave an estimate the next day. I called Jeff back within a few days and spoke at length about the job to gain an understanding of what I could and could not expect. Jeff responded to all of my questions and I clearly understood that he was subject matter expert. Jeff requested I spray a few areas with RoundUp in order to kill some nuisance weeds and grass. He was more than willing to do it, but this saved me some money. I agreed to the work and scheduled an appointment. I called Jeff a few days before the appointment to confirm. Jeff and his crew showed up on time and completed the work. They used state of the art, modern equipment which ensured that I would get a high germination rate. I watered as directed. Generally, I had great results. There were a few areas that did not germinate as well which I knew was possible. Jeff was willing to return to reseed these areas since I watered as required. Instead, I asked him to leave me a few pounds of seed so I could do it myself as needed. At present, the yard looks great with a few thin areas. There are a lot of broadleaf weeds that also germinated which is predictable when the soil is verticut. I plan to spray the weeds but want to wait a while consistent with the instruction sheet that Martz provides. I will probably have to spot seed in the spring, but considering the size of the yard this is minimal. I can't wait to see how this seed blend works next season. I requested a drought tolerant blend even though I have a sprinkler system to keep watering costs down. I did mark the price as a "B" because I know that I could get this service done at a lower price. Considering the professional advice and Jeff's expertise, I didn't want to find out what a lower price actually got me. I won't shop around the next time I need fall renovation and will hire Martz, period.
